It wasn’t a show that you would love to revisit or rewatch. But there were a few things that you may want to bookmark but there were ultimately as mentioned, a few moments only. One of the most refreshing takeaways for the second week in a row is that theAuthority did not begin Raw.
Last week Bray Wyatt and his family kicked off Raw with Reigns and Ambrose making their way and Orton being the equalizer. This week Cena opened the show and it indicated that the much beloved US Title Open Challenge is back.

The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar (Hell in a Cell Match)

Republished from WWE

The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar in a Hell i a Cell Match at WWE Hell in a Cell

The monumental rivalry between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will be settled under the bright lights of Los Angeles’ STAPLES Center on Oct. 25 when The Phenom and The Beast Incarnate meet inside the only structure that can contain the brutality: Hell in a Cell!

Watch WWE Hell in a Cell live on WWE Network

The two proud warriors have split their last two encounters. Lesnar famously snapped The Undertaker’s 21-year WrestleMania undefeated streak in 2014, setting off a goal of redemption for The Deadman. In a career first for The Undertaker, he defeated Lesnar when they met again this past August at SummerSlam, though the win was not without controversy.

In the late moments of the match, The Anomaly made The Undertaker tap out to the Kimura Lock, prompting the timekeeper to ring the bell and Lesnar to think he won. The referee, however, did not see the tap, and commanded the match to continue, giving The Phenom an opportunity to deliver a low blow and apply the Hell’s Gate, causing Lesnar to pass out.

Though the record books consider The Undertaker — one of the most decorated Superstars in WWE history — the official victor, Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman argues The Beast Incarnate was cheated out of his rightful win.

Oct. 25 will not be the first time The Undertaker and Lesnar have dueled inside the dreaded Hell in a Cell. In October 2002, then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion Lesnar overcame The Undertaker in a fiery battle inside the dangerous warzone.

With an incensed Lesnar bent on destroying The Phenom, will the result be the same at this year’s WWE Hell in a Cell? Or will The Undertaker erase the controversy of SummerSlam with a resounding win against the only athlete in history to have held the WWE World Heavyweight, UFC Heavyweight and NCAA national heavyweight championships?

Watch the historic conclusion to Brock Lesnar's "Go to Hell” tour when The Undertaker and Lesnar tie up inside Hell in a Cell, live Sunday, Oct. 25, only on the award-winning WWE Network.

5 Superstars we want to see in WWE NXT

Republished from WWE

Yes, NXT is the proving ground for the Superstars and Divas of the future. However, the brand that’s been tearing it up around the country has also served as a place where main roster Superstars can go to rediscover themselves and relaunch their careers for a big run on Raw and SmackDown.

Full NXT coverage | Watch NXT on WWE Network

Current Superstars like Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, and even ring veterans like former ECW Champion Rhyno, have shown up in NXT to test themselves against the best prospects WWE has to offer. Their success between the yellow ropes has us wondering if some Superstars on the main rosters would find similar results in NXT. We picked five that we’d love to see go up against the likes of Finn Bálor, Tyler Breeze and Samoa Joe.

Raw Five-Point Preview: Sept. 28, 2015

Republished from WWE

Kane has never been the most stable Superstar on the roster — or the most level-headed executive in the boardroom — but The Devil’s Favorite DOO has been particularly dichotomous since re-emerging at Night of Champions to attack WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. As the WWE Universe waits to see what both Demon Kane and Corporate Kane will do next, what else awaits on Monday night’s hottest show? WWE.com has some theories.

Exclusive: Sting on his injury, his condition and whether or not that was his last match

Republished from WWE

The moment was disturbing to watch. At the 11:58 mark in his WWE World Heavyweight Title Match at Night of Champions, Sting was heaved backward through the air by his opponent Seth Rollins and into one of the turnbuckles. Upon impact, the iconic Superstar's head snapped back with alarming velocity. Once he landed, his legs betrayed him, and he wobbled out of the corner, his right leg faltering so completely, he collapsed near the ropes. When Sting fell a second time, the referee waved in a WWE trainer to determine if The Icon was still able to compete. He insisted he was. And though Sting eventually lost the match, the WWE Universe took mild comfort in seeing him soldier on.

Since that night, rumors have been rampant as to what really transpired and whether or not Sting was truly as hurt as many had feared. Herein, The Vigilante speaks exclusively with WWE.com about what exactly went wrong, his thoughts on the title-retaining Seth Rollins and whether or not he'll ever compete again.

WWE.COM: It’s been a few days since your match at Night of Champions. How are you feeling?

STING: Aside from a stiff neck, I’m a little banged up, but otherwise, I feel good. Pretty standard after wrestling a match like that.

See photos from Sting's Night of Champions Match

WWE.COM: Can you set everyone straight on the extent of your injury, as you await further evaluation?

STING: Bottom line, I had tingling, numbness down both arms, all the way to my fingertips. And then, later in the match, I just fell wrong, whatever it was, and this time [the tingling and numbness] went down both arms and into my legs, and I couldn’t feel my legs too well. They just felt like rubber. I don’t know how to describe it. I had to go down on all fours there for a minute, get my composure. I was a little … I was worried.

Long term, well, I’m just going to take care of the short term first and see how the long term might play out.

Watch exclusive videos from Night of Champions

WWE.COM: What kind of treatment did you receive after your injury at Night of Champions?

STING: I was out in the hospital — out like a light. They had a neck brace on me, and they were pumping me with [medication] to get me out of pain. I had to do a CT scan and an MRI. They ended up talking to my wife, and I have some details from my wife, but I still have [further evaluation ahead]. They mentioned cervical spinal stenosis, but that’s only part of what I heard. I don’t know if there’s anything else. The doctor did tell my wife, “He’s going to have to get this dealt with. He’s lucky he walked out of there.”

WWE.COM: Is getting back in the ring again something you’d want to do? Do you have that desire to return?

STING: [long pause] Hmmm, in the right scenario … in the right scenario, yeah.

WWE.COM: Were you aware of exactly when your injury occurred during the match?

STING: Oh, yeah, definitely. Both times into the turnbuckle. First time was like a whiplash. [pause] It’s my fault, bottom line. I know better. The second time, I went up into the air and back toward the turnbuckle like that, I thought, “Well, that’s not going to happen again,” and it did. The second time was worse.

WWE.COM: That was when you lost your legs a bit.

STING: Yeah.

WWE.COM: Have you watched the match at all?

STING: No, I have not.

WWE.COM: Any desire?

STING: You know, for 30 years I have watched very, very little of myself wrestling, so I probably would not.

WWE.COM: Can you describe what was going through your mind toward the end when the referee stopped the match?

STING: The referee, the doctor, they’re all in there talking to me: “Are you OK? What’s going on? Can you continue? Are you all right? Tell us what’s happening.” And the whole time, I’m just thinking, “Oh, man, not now,” I mean, I want this to be good, you know? And if it ends up being the last thing I ever do in the ring, I don’t want to go out like this.

“God help me.” I’m trying to just shake it off, you know? “C’mon, c’mon.” I’m stamping my feet or moving my toes, just trying to get a feel back, get my legs back underneath me. It started to kind of clear up a little bit. My fingers were still tingling and all that, but my legs were not at that point. I said, “Let me try to continue, let’s just try it.” So I just stood up and walked away from them, and we continued.

WWE.COM: At one point, as the evaluation was happening, the crowd began chanting, “Sting! Sting! Sting!” Were you aware of that and, if so, did that help to motivate you?

STING: I don’t remember that now. I don’t remember a “Sting!” chant [during that evaluation], but I was very coherent. The doctors were talking to me — everyone was talking to me, so I knew what was going on. I’d like to say in the moment I had to have heard and understood what the crowd was doing. From the dive from the top rope onto Seth on the floor [prior to the evaluation], the crowd started a “Sting!” chant there, and I thought, “Wow.” I mean, they see this [type of maneuver] every other minute, but coming from the 56-year-old guy, I think they appreciated it all the more.

WWE.COM: How would you describe competing against Seth Rollins?

STING: The biggest pleasure. I’m honored. After 30 years and working with some of the best and some of the greatest, [Rollins] is, I’m telling you, he’s got to be the best I’ve ever worked with. I mean, this guy has it. And I think he’s just scratching the surface on what he will do. I’ve never seen somebody as talented. He’s working two [matches] on Raw, two [matches] on the pay-per-view, he’s involved in every other segment and it’s physical. He’s got guys coming from every angle. There’s a lot on his plate. He’s carrying a lot, and he’s handling it. He’s proven he can do it. I’m just glad I had a chance to work with him. He’s the kind of guy who could be in there with a broomstick and make something very interesting happen, a match that people would love somehow.

WWE.COM: That’s incredibly high praise coming from Sting.

STING: Really, I can’t say enough. He poked his head in the ambulance and said, “Man, I’m so sorry. I don’t know what happened.” I said, “Seth, don’t worry about it. It’s not your fault.” And he, for 15 minutes, he said, “I just wanted to tell you what an honor it was, what a pleasure. I can’t believe I had a chance to get in the ring with you and work with you. I was you for Halloween when I was a kid.” He was on and on about it, but man, this young guy, he doesn’t have any idea how much I appreciate being able to work with him.

WWE.COM: Well, where does that leave Sting? Was this your last match?

STING: I hate it when I’m asked that question because the answer truly is a question mark, and the question mark is as bold as it could ever be at this point.

WWE.COM: Wait and see?

STING: Yeah, for now.

WWE.COM: Well, the important thing is that you walked away from it. There’s been quite a bit of speculation on the Internet as to what happened, so thank you for taking the time to speak with us. Any closing words for your fans?

STING: I have not been on the Internet, but I have heard some things here and there. To be quite honest, I just shut myself in once I got home. I can’t tell you the number of text messages and phone calls I received. But listen, I’m grateful, thankful and appreciate wrestling fans now — after 30 years — I appreciate them now more than I ever have.

WWE Night of Champions 2015: Will Sting Add Interest To Sunday's Pay-Per-View?

Republished from Forbes

WWE Night of Champions airs live this Sunday on the WWE Network. The event will mark Sting’s first pay-per-view match since WrestleMania 31 as he takes on WWE champion Seth Rollins. WWE officials hope the special attraction will have an impact on Night of Champions’ business.
Historically, Night of Champions has been the lowest-performing pay-per-view of the third quarter in terms of buyrate. Averaging just 147,600 buys since its debut in 2008, the event brings in 20% less buys than July’s Battleground pay-per-view, and 51% fewer than the iconic SummerSlam in August.
WWE Night of Champions—Historical Buyrates (Credit: PWTorch)
 Year Main Event Buyrate
 2008 Triple H vs. John Cena 273,000
2009 Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk 267,000
2010 Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett vs. Edge vs. John Cena vs. Chris Jericho 169,000
 2011 Triple H vs. CM Punk 161,000
2012 CM Punk vs. John Cena 189,000
2013 Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan 175,000
2014John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar48,000 (WWE Network Era)
Sting’s presence on the pay-per-view should add a jolt to the traditionally lukewarm event. It’s worth noting, that since offering pay-per-views free of charge for monthly subscribers of the WWE Network, buyrates will be significantly lower. But a successful outing can still be measured by a potential jump in paid WWE Network subscribers interested to see Sting chase the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Sting has already proven to be a ratings and pay-per-view draw in his short time with WWE. His presence in a top-tier match on WrestleMania 31 helped the event become the most watched WrestleMania in history as the WWE Network surpassed 1.3 million subscribers in addition to 259,000 buys on pay-per-view. According to WWE, this represented a 97% increase from the year prior and a 27% increase since the beginning of 2015.

The August 31 edition of WWE Raw, featuring an advertised appearance by Sting, drew its highest rating since a June 15 episode featuring box-office juggernaut Brock Lesnar. Another advertised appearance by Sting this past Monday, in his first match ever on Raw, helped prevent a ratings dropoff against the debut of Monday Night Football. In fact, the number slightly increased.
WWE is benefitting from its strategic use of Sting. Through his first ten months with the company, he has only made one appearance on pay-per-view in addition to a handful of television appearances. With the future Hall-of-Famer underexposed, he is more likely to deliver a bigger number for an otherwise lagging pay-per-view franchise.

Night of Champions predictions: Seth Rollins to defeat Sting, to lose against John Cena

Republished from ibtimes

Seth Rollins
(A picture of Seth Rollins from WWE Raw.WWE Twitter Page)

Seth Rollins will have two matches at the forthcoming Night of Champions to be held on 20 September at the ToyotaCenter in Houston, Texas.
Very rarely do we see a star having two matches in a pay-per-view event. Seth Rollins will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Sting and US Championship against JohnCena.
Below, we bring you the predictions for both the matches:
Sting vs Seth Rollins
Sting has been predicted to be the winner at Night of Champions all these while. People had believed thatWWE would ensure a victory for the Icon as he had lost to Triple H in his debut match, which was criticised by many.

However, on Raw (14 August), Sting tasted his first victory. The Vigilante finally won a match onWWE. As a result, Rollins is most likely to register a win against the Icon at Night of Champions.
Seth Rollins will retain his World Heavyweight Championship and the title clash might soon happen between Rollins andSheamus, who is the Money in the Bank winner of 2015.
Seth Rollins vs John Cena
WWE might not want to have two belts hanging on the shoulders of one person. There should always be separate storylines for two titles. Hence, it would be appropriate to say that Rollins will lose his US Championship to John Cena.

JohnCena has given the much-needed respect for US Championship. It was not a celebrated belt for years. But once Cena took over it from Rusev, he has brought value to it. Each week theCenation leader accepted challenges from those who set their eyes on the belt and has been part of exciting feuds. As a result, the belt should return to him at Night of Champions.

WWE Raw Spoiler – 2 Legends Reportedly In Memphis

Republished from whatculture

wwe.com

Both Ric Flair and Sting are in town for tonight’s edition of WWE RAW, live from Memphis, Tennessee.
Flair is currently backstage at the FedEx Forum, according to PWInsider, and it is unknown whether he will be appearing on television during the broadcast. Obviously, with Flair’s daughter Charlotte getting her first opportunity to wrestle for the WWE Divas Championship, it would make sense to show Flair on television in some capacity. He may possibly just take part in a backstage segment, or it’s possible that he could accompany Charlotte to the ring in the same way that he has done during a few of her NXT matches in the past.
If Nikki Bella is victorious tonight, she will surpass A.J. Lee as the longest reigning WWE Divas Champion in history. According to Dave Meltzer on yesterday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, there is a chance that Charlotte walks away from the bout with the title belt. Meltzer reports that if Bella retains the belt, it will be largely due to John Cena’s influence. At the same time, it’s hard to believe WWE would have Nikki hold the strap this long and not surpass A.J.’s record.
Sting will certainly appear on television as he continues to build toward his match with Seth Rollins this weekend at Night Of Champions. The bout will be the first time in his career that Sting has wrestled for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

International Star Kana Talks WWE, Why Now Is The Right Time To Sign With WWE, Who Does She Want To Work With?

Republished from Wrestlezone

Kana

The latest WWE signee, international women’s wrestling star Kana, recently spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News
Kana spoke about why she finally decided to sign with the company, her impression of NXT and the “Divas Revolution”, who she’d like to work with, and more. You can read a few excerpts below:
Kana Talks WWE; Why Did She Sign Now?
I have been in this business for 10 years and have accomplished almost everything there is to accomplish. I was looking for a new challenge and when the opportunity came up with WWE, the timing just felt right.
Who Would Kana Look Forward To Working With On The Current Roster?
After witnessing Bayley win the NXT Divas Championship at NXT: TakeOver in Brooklyn, I knew she was somebody I would want to compete with. I want to be Divas Champion, so she is an obvious answer. I also have a tremendous amount of respect for Charlotte, and would love to get in the ring with her eventually also.
How Does She Think She’ll Transition To The WWE Audience?
Having already experienced American crowds I think will definitely help me with the transition. No matter where the crowd is, it is always about getting some sort of reaction, and I don’t think I will have any problem with that.
After Attending NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, What Are Her Thoughts On The Brand?
The energy in the building was absolutely amazing and like nothing I have ever experienced before. I felt like I was at a live concert. Experiencing that only reassured me that I made the right decision and I can’t want to get in the ring and compete.
