Vince McMahon stuck with Roman Reigns as a face
A lot of people in the WWE, including Triple H, were in favour of turning either Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose heel
With the WWE Universe turning the corner on Roman Reigns and having started to cheer him, props must be given to Vince McMahon, who weathered the storm with Reigns as a babyface, when not a lot was going in his favour.
A lot of people in the WWE, including Triple H, were in favour of turning either Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose heel, but McMahon didn’t budge. Instead, Vince had Sheamus cashing in the Money in the Bank contract at Survivor Series on Reigns, with the intent of furthering Reigns as a babyface which, looking back now, has worked as per plan.
The word backstage indicate that the short title reign of Sheamus was purely as a way to cement Reigns as the babyface fan favourite.
Reports also indicate that Brock Lesnar was in talks to make an appearance at the WWE TLC PPV last week, which didn’t come to fruition. The plan was for him to be inserted into the WWE World Heavyweight title picture, but the creative couldn’t come to terms with the final plan.
Reportedly, Lesnar’s name constantly comes up when the talk revolves around dwindling TV ratings and Vince knows that he always Lesnar’s brand name to rescue the WWE. However, Lesnar still works part-time and for select dates, beyond which the WWE has to pay him extra.
As for his return, the company is positive he will be a part of the WWE Royal Rumble PPV.
