Possible Reason Behind Taryn Terrell’s Recent Heel Turn, Alliance with The Doll House & Future Plans for TNA Knockouts

Republished from Wrestlezone

As seen on last week’s “TKO: A Night of Knockouts” edition of Impact Wrestling, Taryn Terrell retained her Knockouts Championship and turned heel, aligning with the debuting Doll House group.
The plan for some time has been for a Taryn vs.Awesome Kong program, but when Kong returned she was getting a babyface reaction, which according to reports, wasn’t what the company had expected. I’m not quite sure I buy that TNA didn’t expect the reaction for Kong – if that’s true it shows some pretty gaping holes in their logic. Of course a big star returning from a long absence (and brief run in WWE) was going to be cheered, and they immediately put her up against the heel Havok who was in the midst of beating down Taryn, then a face.
Either way, turning Taryn opens up programs with the popular Kong and Gail Kim, with the Doll House group getting involved to build cheap heat and help her retain the title. While both are old and/or ongoing feuds, having them switch sides does make them fresh again, especially in the case of Gail Kim (38), who can now take the respectable veteran role against Taryn’s young, entitled attitude.
Mickie James is the other super over babyface on the roster, but they’re currently playing with a retirement angle, and it’s unclear as to what TNA is planning to do with her long-term.

Veteran TNA Knockout Reportedly Leaving the Company, Backstage Update on TNA Handling Destination America Reports

Republished from Wrestlezone

According to PWInsider.com, veteran TNA Knockout Christy Hemme has landed a great job outside of wrestling and has given her notice that she is leaving TNA. There has been talk that she might still work some type of TV role with TNA, but that has not been confirmed, and the general feeling is she is leaving TNA altogether.
With regards to the reports of Destination America canceling TNA programming in September, as of this writing TNA has yet to address the issue with talent. There is a meeting, however, scheduled for this afternoon in which the topic might be addressed, but there are people in TNA who are unhappy that nothing has been directly told to them about the cancelation report other than the statement TNA initially issued.

WWE Planting Seeds for HHH vs Seth Rollins, WWE Stars “Crash” Wedding After Live Event, Rowan & Harper’s Finishing Move

Republished from Wrestlezone

According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE is planting seeds for a possible Seth Rollins vs Triple H feud somewhere down the line. During the “Architect of a Dream” segment on Raw last week, Triple H saying saying he sees a reflection of himself in Seth Rollins was to help setup the feud, as well as Rollins doing the Pedigree at Payback.

WWE Smackdown results: Dean Ambrose defeats Bray Wyatt while Roman Reigns sets his eyes on Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Republished from Independent

Smackdown kicked off with Roman Reigns entering through the crowd to tell them that even though he didn't win, he had a really good time at Payback by hitting Seth Rollins in the mouth and going toe to toe with his brother Dean Ambrose. The powerhouse said that he now has to have a new game plan so entered himself into the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Dean Ambrose then entered the ring to tell Reigns that he won't be in the Ladder Match as he will be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion by then when he beats Rollins at the Elimination Chamber. Kane then made a rematch between Ambrose and Bray Wyatt before giving Reigns the night off.
The first match of the night saw The Lucha Dragons face The Ascension, The Brass Ring Club and Los Matadores in a four way tag team match. New Day watched on alongside The Prime Time Players as the Tag Team Champions prepare to defend their titles in the Elimination Chamber coming up. Kalisto won the match for his team with a modified Hurricanrana while Sin Cara jumped onto every other team onto the outside.
Dolph Ziggler took on King Barrett as the two looked to get the advantage before the Elimination Chamber match for the vacant Intercontinental Championship. Ziggler managed to dodge the Bull Hammer to hit the Zig Zag to win the match. Lana approached the ramp to congratulate The Show Off, who she shared a kiss with on Raw, which infuriated Rusev, who will also be in the chamber.
Stardust took on R-Truth who is also involved in the Elimination Chamber Intercontinental Championship matchup. Truth used clever tactics by throwing Stardust's glove in the air to distract him before landing the STO for the win.
Axelmania and Macho Mandow faced Heath Slater and Adam Rose in a tag team match with Rosa Mendes at ringside. Mandow threw Rose outside the ring to set the Atomic Leg Drop on Slater for The Mega Powers to continue their winning streak after Payback.
The crowd were geared up for another showdown between Wyatt and Ambrose to continue their historic rivalry. The Lunatic Fringe was in control for most of the match until Rollins' music hit as the Architect prepared to interfere before Reigns intervened. Reigns landed the Superman Punch on J&J Security before hitting Wyatt with one more for Ambrose to hit the Dirty Deeds for the win. Rollins stared down his former Shield teammates as the lights faded to close the show.
Results
The Lucha Dragons defeated The Ascension, The Brass Ring Club and Los Matadores
Dolph Ziggler defeated King Barrett
R-Truth defeated Stardust
The Mega Powers defeated Heath Slater and Adam Rose
Dean Ambrose defeated Bray Wyatt

Actor Comments On Ronda Rousey In WWE; Says It’s A ‘Step Backwards’, The Rock Breaks World Record For Selfies at San Andreas Premiere

Republished from Wrestlezone

Ronda Rousey In WWE

David Spade was recently featured on TMZ, and the subject of UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey wanting to work with WWE came up.
Spade said it was surprise to hear about Rousey’s interest in WWE, and said that it’s a “step backwards” for her. Spade replied:
“She could get hurt, and fake wrestling is probably harder than real fighting. You could get hurt easier. I think she’s so good at what she’s doing, she’s probably just bored.”

The Rock Breaks World Record

Digital Spy is reporting that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson broke a Guinness World Record at the London premiere of his new film San Andreas last night.
The Rock was required to take more than 75 pictures; each photo had to be in focus and feature the head and shoulders of each companion. Guinness reviewed the photos, and ended up announcing that Johnson had actually taken 105 eligible selfies.

Former WWE Diva Sunny Allegedly P***ing For Cash

Republished from WhatCulture

Former WWE Diva Sunny is allegedly offering to p*** for cash. A fan has leaked an email in which she apparently offered to pee for him if he pays $800. This would be part of one of her infamous skype sessions, which she offers to fans who are willing to pay a set amount.
The leaking of this information comes just days after she was linked with a move into pornography. She has confirmed on Twitter that she has indeed been made an offer from the porn industry. “To clear the air, I am NOT doing a porn… I have been approached by Vivid Entertainment, but nothing has been negotiated or put on paper,” she has stated on Twitter.
The Skype video sessions are something that she’s been doing for a while. She has also offered a service in which fans can pay to sit next to her in bed. You then get a photo of the two of you in your dressing gowns.
Each to their own, but it is certainly not the kind of behaviour that you expect from a WWE Hall Of Famer. Unfortunately, Sunny fell on hard time after her mid 90’s WWF run and has had battles with alcohol and drugs. She has bills to pay like anyone of us.
At the peak of her fame, she was one of the WWF’s biggest stars. You could argue that she was the very first Diva. Those Sunny days are now being spoiled by signs of showers and clouds of bad judgement.
Have you ever skyped with Sunny? Let us know in the comments!

WWE Moves Live Event Conflicting With Elimination Chamber

Republished from WrestlingInc

As noted, WWE had a live event scheduled on May 31st at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC, which would have been on the same day as the newly announced Elimination Chamber special at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX. John Cena and Rusev were advertised for the Greenville show.
WWE has postponed the Greenville show, which will now be a Monday Night RAW event on November 16th. Online ticket purchases will be refunded to the cards with which they were purchased, while tickets purchased at the box office or other locations can be exchanged at the point of purchase for the RAW show.
Just a reminder that the WWE Network is free this month for new subscribers. You cansubscribe to the WWE Network by clicking here and catch the WWE Payback pay-per-view this Sunday, and the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on May 31st.

Backstage News On WWE Elimination Chamber 2015

Republished from WhatCulture

Another three hour event added to WWE schedule this month.

It was announced on Raw that WWE will be bringing back the Elimination Chamber for a three hour event on May 31 that will be exclusive to WWE Network. The event will take place in Corpus Christi, Texas, which originally had a live event scheduled for that night. The event will only take place on WWE Network and it won’t be on traditional PPV providers.
What was interesting about the announcement is that it was just done by Michael Cole sitting at the announce table. Triple H was on Raw, so why not have him do it? Maybe they thought that it would hurt Payback since that is Sunday and WWE wants to keep the focus on that.
According to PWInsider, WWE made the decision to do Elimination Chamber within the last few days. Apparently it’s tough to get the Chamber into some arenas, but Corpus Christi has an arena where they can make it work. Since WWE has a free month of WWE Network for new subscribers, they wanted to add another show to the lineup.
There wasn’t that much information provided during Raw, but WWE.com had more info about it: “The anticipated, must-see WWE Elimination Chamber event will emanate from Corpus Christi, Texas, where the WWE Tag Team Championships and the newly vacant Intercontinental Championship will be defended inside the infamous structure. Plus, U.S. Champion John Cena will compete and the WWE World Heavyweight Title will be defended, all live on WWE Network.”
That’s a very interesting bit of info because we have never seen the Tag Team Titles defended inside the Elimination Chamber. Will the rules be that six teams are in the match and two guys are in the four pods to start while the other two teams are in the ring? Perhaps it would just be three teams so that they could keep it at six guys. Six teams might be hard to do although they have The New Day, Kidd/Cesaro, Harper/Rowan are back together, Prime Time Players, Los Matadores and The Ascension. Sandow and Axel are there as well.
Regarding the IC Title, it sounds like WWE will put six superstars in the match to compete for the vacant title. Good idea. Some likely candidates are King Barrett, Neville, Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler. The Miz is likely going to be back by then (he’s been away filming a movie) so he can be involved as well.
Judging from that information on WWE.com, it appears as though the WWE Title match will not be inside the Elimination Chamber although it’s certainly possible. Since Rollins is currently in a feud leading to a Fatal Fourway match, they could easily add Big Show and Kane to the mix to make it six guys.
The information from WWE.com also suggests John Cena might just compete in a US Title match without being in a Chamber match. Cena’s scheduled for a live event that day in Greenville, South Carolina that starts at 1pm, so he could do that show and get to Texas for the Elimination Chamber show that night.
If they were to have three or four Chamber matches then it would be similar to TNA’s Lockdown event where they have the whole show full of cage matches.
May is a loaded month for WWE in terms of major shows with Payback on May 17, NXT Takeover on May 20 and now Elimination Chamber on May 31.

Rusev and Lana Should Remain Together Past WWE Payback 2015

Republished from Bleacher Report

Rusev and Lana Should Remain Together Past WWE Payback 2015

(Credit: WWE.com)
Rusev and Lana are the ultimate example of how something just works.
Lana is effective alongside Rusev because she gives him credibility as a monster heel who needs a diplomat, albeit an arrogant one, to be restrained.
Lana's character is successful because it's more of a caricature than anything. Lana's thick accent and Russian tropes give her depth beyond being a typical Diva. She's such an over-the-top character, fans are able to laugh at her, which adds to her entertainment value and makes it easier for her to connect despite seeming unattainable to the naked eye.
The recent tease of Rusev and Lana splitting would be bad for both parties. As I mentioned on the PodNasty wrestling podcast, hopefully this is just a ruse. There's a possibility that Rusev is using Lana as a pawn to force John Cena to quit in their "I Quit" match at WWE Payback before the two reconcile.

But if the plan is to move forward with the Lana-Rusev split, not only will Rusev's world championship potential take a hit, so will Lana'slikeability.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlingInc.com), there is talk of having Lana drop her accent and reveal she is American.
This would be a mistake since fans have taken a liking to the Lana character, not the person who plays her. Revealing Lana as an American would insult fans' intelligence, and a highly nostalgic crowd would be clamoring for the Ravishing Russian during what would be an awkward transition.
The template for this type of split is reminiscent of Sable and MarcMero. But Sable became such a big star on her own because fans weren't fully invested in Marc MeroMero was a midcarder fans didn't take seriously as a potential world title contender.
Marc Mero never rode in to WrestleMania on a tank.
Rusev, on the other hand, just came off an unbeaten streak and is an early favorite of sorts to win Money in the Bank. Rusev and Lana climbed near the top of the WWE roster as a team, and a split would send both of them tumbling back down.
Lana's lack of wrestling experience limits her to a managerial role, which may not be as effective as the lightning in a bottle she had with Rusev. And while Rusev is more than capable as a talker, he'd run the risk of being just another monster heel if Lana wasn't part of his act.
Rusev and Lana need each other. As much as fans have gravitated toward Lana, WWE needs to wait untilRusev is established as a main event star before breaking up one of its most potent duos.

Seth Rollins Talks The Deck Stacked Against Him at WWE Payback, Kane Being Jealous of Him, Contract Signing on SD! & More

Republished from Wrestlezone

seth rollins

WWE World Champion Seth Rollins is the guest on this week’s sit down interview with Michael Cole, and below are some highlights:
Rollins says the odds are definitely stacked against him at WWE Payback, but he says he’s used to that. Rollins says at Payback he’s going to put Dean Ambroseand Randy Orton out of action forever, and he goes on to remind everyone what he has done in the past. Rollins calls his WWE World title win at WrestleMania 31 the greatest moment in WrestleMania history.
Cole brings up the recent issues between Rollins and Kane, and Rollins says he does not have a personal vendetta against Kane. Rollins says Kane might have “best intentions” in mind, but maybe he is misguided by his jealousy of Rollins. Rollins says he is the future of WWE and a rising star, and Kane’s career is dwindling. Rollins adds he can do things in the ring Kane only dreams of and only Seth Rollins knows what’s best for Seth Rollins.
With regards to the Payback contract signing on Smackdown this week, Rollins said he doesn’t conduct himself in a volatile nature in a contract signing setting, so there should be no chaos. Rollins added it doesn’t matter what happens leading up to the PPV, as he will walk out still the WWE World Champion:

WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar’s Return Date Appears To Be Getting Closer

Republished from inquisitr

WWE Rumors Brock Lesnar return SummerSlam

WWE is just two weeks away from its next Pay-Per-View, as Payback will air live on May 17. After that is Money in the Bank on June 14 and Battleground on July 19. A month after that will be WWE SummerSlam, and by then, it is fully expected that “The Beast” Brock Lesnar will be a huge part of the end of the summer spectacular, but when will he return?
For now, Lesnar has been indefinitely suspended by WWE for his recent actions, where he has destroyed virtually anyone that got near him. Well, except for Paul Heyman, but that is to be expected.
It is almost a guarantee that Lesnar will be back in time for SummerSlam and will likely have a big match at the event. It isn’t known what type of match or who he will be wrestling against, but it likely won’t be Seth Rollins.
If he’s on that card, then it means that Lesnar will be back on WWE television sometime earlier. Sense would have him show up at Battleground or on Monday Night RAW the day after so that a feud can be set up and have time to build.
Cageside Seats has said that Lesnar will indeed be on the card, but he won’t be winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
It is fully expected that Brock Lesnar will want to go after Seth Rollins once he returns from his suspension. Rollins is the reason that Lesnar lost the title and the reason he went ballistic and ultimately got suspended.
Now, there’s no telling if Rollins will even still have the title by the end of the summer. If he does, it would be strange for Lesnar to not want to go after him for revenge and try to recapture his title.
Should Lesnar go after Rollins and have that match at SummerSlam, it would make no sense to have “The Beast” lose. He surely wouldn’t lose cleanly, and it would take interference to cause a disqualification — or maybe Rollins runs away and sets up for a feud that keeps going.
Everyone knows that in a straight-up fight, Lesnar would absolutely decimate Rollins, but WWE won’t kill the former Shield member’s momentum like that.
Either way, there are still probably about two months until Brock Lesnar officially returns to WWE television. He will be back to set up a feud of some sort for SummerSlam, and be well on his way to having everyone head to “Suplex City” again.
