Daniel Bryan’s health was given the all clear when visiting concussion specialists at UCLA, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports.
The sidelined WWE wrestler underwent a battery of tests, in what was the third opinion on his health status. His own doctor had already cleared him, but WWE weren’t satisfied with his testing.
Despite it now being a two to one situation on his health, WWE’s doctors still haven’t said Bryan can return. Dr Joseph Maroon remains concerned about the number of prior concussions. “All indications are the WWE is still very leery about clearing him,” Meltzer states.
You can understand why that would be the case. WWE are a corporate powerhouse, they can’t take even the slightest risk with the health of their employees. Recent concussion lawsuits from former wrestlers are also making the company stricter with current concussion cases. You also have to think about how WWE have been burned twice now by investing pushes in Bryan, only for him to then have to vacate titles and go to the sidelines.
When he finally is fully cleared by WWE, he’d be ready to return immediately, but it is still entirely possible that he’ll never make a return to the ring. WWE’s testing is what matters.
