WOW! The Jan. 24 WWE Royal Rumble pit 30 top WWE Superstars against each other in the ring in a fight to the finish with the winner emerging with the WWE Heavyweight championship. So who was the last man standing? We’ve got all the details!
Roman Reigns was looking to take home his second consecutive victory at the Royal Rumble, but thanks to Vince McMahon‘s shocking decision on Jan. 4th’s edition of Monday Night Raw, the match was used to also determine who took home his WWE Heavyweight Championship home! So the deck was certainly stacked against him! As 30 of the WWE’s finest went head to head for the WWE Championship it was amazing to see who won! Find out how it went down after the jump!
Multiple superstars had a chance to make history. Whether it was Sheamus who came in late as number 29, or Roman who was taken out early in the night to come back later to make a last ditch effort to retain his title. It was number 30 that made the biggest showing and impact. Who was that lucky man? IT WAS TRIPLE H!!! The former WWE champion looked ready to go with one target in mind – Roman Reigns! Triple H went on to eliminate Roman Reigns leading him to face the remaining combatant Dean Ambrose.
Triple H finally took out Dean and became the WWE Champion. In a shocking turn of events, Triple H is now your new WWE Champion. Talk about something that will change the WWE Forever!
Speaking of the legendary Triple H, unless something wacky happens in the months to come will now headline the big match at Wrestlemaina 32 which is only 10 weeks away in Dallas, TX on Apr. 3. We’ll be giving you plenty of coverage on the road to the big event! So will he face Roman Reigns at the big show?

– Kickoff Match: Jack Swagger and Mark Henry defeated The Ascension, The Dudley Boyz, and Damien Sandow and Darren Young. This earned Henry and Swagger spots in the Royal Rumble match.
1. Last Man Standing Match: Dean Ambrose (c) defeated Kevin Owens. Ambrose retained after shoving Owens off the top rope through two tables at ringside.
2. Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (c) defeated The Usos.Before the match, Xavier Woods debuted his new trombone, Francesca II. New Day retained the championship after countering a top rope splash attempt into The Big Ending.
3. United States Championship: Kalisto defeated Alberto Del Rio (c). Kalisto pinned Del Rio with a Salida del Sol to win his second United States Championship.
4. Divas Championship Match: Charlotte (c) defeated Becky Lynch. Ric Flair interfered, tossing his jacket in Becky’s face. Charlotte hit a spear to win the match and retain the championship. After the match, Sasha Banks came to the ring, challenged Charlotte, teased an allegiance and ultimately locked her in the Banks Statement.
